protection for viewing, 'La Tarde' is a soft, soothing pastel that can be doted on for extended periods without fear of retinal

Large leaves of silver-purple with deep maroon undersides. Tubular pale blue flowers in
autumn. Grows 2-3' tall, preferring moist soil in shady areas.

TIBOUCHINA semidecandra Glory Bush New The Glory Bush is a small tree in its native Brazil and, in northern gardens,
needs to be cut back to be kept in scale. Worth the effort as plants are spectacular in bloom. After temperatures have risen in
early summer, until frost, flaring, 2in., royal purple flowers are liberally produced. The attractive leaves are dark green, 4-6ins.
long, narrow, prominently longitudinally veined, overlaid in silver and often red-tinged at the edges. Grow in full sun in moist but
well drained, somewhat acid soil. These are plants worth overwintering in a protected place and carrying over from year to year.
VERBENA BONARIENSIS
4-5' wiry stems bear flat panicles of purple flowers all summer. A great favorite of gardeners for its
season long profusion of flowers poised nearly at eye level at the ends of tall, narrow stalks. Makes a great filler in the mixed annual/perennial border.
